First Visit

We get it…a dentist visit isn’t top of your list of fun things to do. We promise we will make you comfortable, give you our best care, utmost respect, and help you get on with your day. Our office is gleaming with friendly, understanding staff who know exactly what you’re feeling. We’re here for you, every step of the way!

First things first

When you first arrive, you’ll fill out your new patient paperwork. This helps our team get to know you better. We ask that you arrive 15 minutes early to complete your paperwork. Or, you can get a head start by filling out your patient forms now.  Access New Patient Forms. (hyperlink)

New patients often ask if they can have their teeth cleaned during their first visit. Your dental treatments usually begin at your next appointment, which may be scheduled as soon as the next day. Before scheduling your treatment, including hygiene, Dr. Poulos needs to see you first for a comprehensive exam so he can create a treatment plan that addresses any problems you may have, not just the symptoms.

Sitting down and seeing the big picture

You’ll sit down with your dentist to chat about your dental treatment, medical history, and why you’ve come to see Dr. Poulos and Dr. Stevens.  Next, is a thorough oral exam to help diagnose any oral health issues and develop a comprehensive treatment plan that’s right for you. This is important, because we believe in seeing the full picture so you can have the healthy mouth you deserve.

Depending on your dental history, Dr. Poulos & Dr. Stevens may recommend the taking of a series of digital images or X-rays to get a better look at your entire mouth. X-rays allow us to see things that can’t be seen by the naked eye, and they help the doctors conduct a comprehensive exam.

X-rays may also be required for denture wearers. We can determine if you have adequate bone to support dentures, plus check for bone fractures, cysts, tumors, lesions, and sinus issues.

Developing the right dental treatment plan for you

Your mouth is our mission. That means providing you comprehensive oral care – taking care of the problems that are bothering you today and preventing small issues from getting bigger and more expensive. It means making sure your dentures fit right. It means consistently affordable prices, no hidden fees, and no surprises. It even means giving you free copies of your X-rays if you want a second opinion. We will recommend a dental treatment plan with options for long-lasting oral health, and work with you to determine which treatments are best, so your mouth is on its way to a happy healthy smile.
