Saving Your Natural Tooth

Inside every tooth is a chamber containing nerves, blood vessels, and connective tissue called the pulp. When this pulp becomes infected due to deep decay, a crack, or trauma, it causes significant pain and can lead to an abscess if left untreated.

Root canal therapy removes the infected pulp, eliminates bacteria, and seals the tooth to prevent reinfection. The result is a pain-free tooth that can continue to function normally for years to come.

The Root Canal Process

  1. Anesthesia: We thoroughly numb the area so you feel no pain during the procedure
  2. Pulp removal: The infected or damaged pulp tissue is carefully removed from the tooth's interior
  3. Cleaning and disinfection: The root canals are shaped, cleaned, and disinfected to eliminate all bacteria
  4. Sealing: The canals are filled with a biocompatible material and sealed. A crown is typically placed over the tooth for long-term protection.

Signs You May Need a Root Canal

  • Severe, persistent toothache
  • Prolonged sensitivity to hot or cold
  • Darkening or discoloration of the tooth
  • Swelling or tenderness in the nearby gums
  • A persistent pimple on the gums near the tooth

If you are experiencing any of these symptoms, do not wait. Early treatment can save your tooth and prevent the infection from spreading.
